U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- Steelhead Outdoors introduces its Homestead Vault Doors collection as an alternative to modular gun safes for people with large gun collections or who want to create a safe room in their home. Safe rooms aren’t just for Hollywood celebrities and professional athletes. More people are incorporating safe rooms in their homes to protect their family and keep their valuables secure.
Homestead Vault Doors are available in two standard sizes to fit either a 34” x 82.5” or 38” x 82.5” rough opening. Install in an 8” block wall and select the right-hand In-Swing door to eliminate the possibility of being trapped inside the room by heavy objects. Standard features include a full 7-gauge steel construction on door and frame (3/16” thick), easy access emergency release, and panic room lock. The door is installed using 8 – 3/8” concrete anchors along with a clamping clamshell design for redundant security. The door frame weighs 240-255 pounds and can be pre-installed without the door for easier installation.
The door weighs 340-365 pounds, giving an assembled door weight of 590-615 pounds for either a 32” door or 36” door. The bolt-on hinges attach from the inside for easy assembly and 7 locking plates on each side lock into closed pockets within the frame. The locking mechanism is a cam-over-center direct drive design with a ball bearing hard plate and a slip clutch to protect against brute force handle attacks. Choose from a Mechanical Group 2 lock or Electronic S&G Titan Direct Drive lock. Select from standard and custom colors and accents. Steelhead Outdoors Homestead Vault Doors start at $5,550.
Steelhead Outdoors can design and build a custom vault door to meet custom size requirements, custom finishes, and custom configurations. Doors can be made taller, shorter, out-swing, or add extra security by adding additional metal.
“We enjoy working with our customers to help them create the safe room or safe of their dreams,” explained Steelhead Outdoors Co-Founder Corey Meyer. “We’ll be happy to guide you through the process and provide a quote for you.”
Steelhead Outdoors also manufacturers premium modular gun safes. Modular safes are easily moved and assembled by two people. Traditional safes require hiring a specialized safe moving company, which is costly, or enlisting friends on a dangerous DIY adventure each time the homeowner moves. Standard models are the Nomad 26, Nomad 32, and Nomad 38 with the model numbers corresponding with the gun safes’ exterior width. Steelhead Outdoors also offers custom-built modular safes to fit any space in the home in a multitude of colors.
A custom racking configuration is always available for Steelhead Outdoors safes. A fully modular interior racking system offers infinite possibilities of shelving and gun rack configuration. Standard interior options are single horseshoe gun holder, double horseshoe gun holder and multi-row maximum gun racking. These interior options give the Nomad 26 a 6-, 12- and 15-gun capacity; the Nomad 32 having an 8-, 16, and 19-gun capacity; the Nomad 38 having a 10-, 20- and 35-gun capacity, depending on choice.
Several customers have joined two safes together to fit a larger collection while still enjoying the benefits of a modular safe that can move when the time comes. In these configurations, the safe door doesn’t become too heavy for a larger safe and the side panels are still light enough for two people to move easily – maintaining the benefits of a modular safe
Custom colors and design features allow customers to create a stunning safe or one that blends into the background, depending on preferences. Each safe can be ordered with a choice of interior and exterior color. The handle and logo on the safe will match the inferior color, creating a great accent color on the front of the safe that continues into the inside. The standard custom color collection was inspired by America’s national parks – Badlands Brown, Arctic White, Royale Blue, Yosemite Grey, Zion Bronze, Glacier Green, and new Rocky Mountain Rust featuring authentic beauty of natural age, patina, and rust.
Another 144 other color options are available. Steelhead Outdoors uses unique and durable power for finishing the safes. Powder coating provides a greater level of durability than paint. These textured finished are durable and maximize protection, for a safe that will look as good for the next generation as it does now. Steel panel interior features a bright and protective, textured powder-coated finish that is non-flammable, non-marring and provides additional protection over wood or carpet. Steelhead Outdoors offers three sizes of Nomad Series safes which feature many high-end security features expected in a premium gun safe. Prices start at $2,700. The patent-pending construction features a fully dry insulation system, eliminating the need for a dehumidifier. This system utilizes a radiant heat reflecting coating to reject incoming heat from entering the safe. The metal interior provides additional protection and is made from nearly 100 percent nonflammable materials. The panels are filled with ceramic fire insulation that is rated to 2300 degrees and is non-moisture trapping so it does not require the use of a dehumidifier and will not release steam into the safe in the event of a fire.
“Steelhead Outdoors safe interiors were designed to be non-moisture trapping so there’s no more worrying about rust and mold damaging your valuables inside the safe. Other safes require the use of a dehumidifier. You will not need that with Steelhead Outdoors safes,” explained Meyer. “Plus, we designed the metal interior with integrated flush shelving and accessory brackets that offer an infinite amount of customization options for our customers. And we are always available for one-on-one consults for our customers.”
